General benefits in soap bars

In natural soap, essential oils typically:

  • Add natural aroma for a pleasant, spa-like sensory experience and basic aromatherapy (calming, energizing, focusing).
  • Support the skin’s barrier by helping maintain normal pH and complementing moisturizing oils in the bar.
  • Provide functional properties such as antioxidant, mildly antimicrobial, or soothing activity depending on the oil (for example, tea tree or rosemary).

Examples of specific oils and uses

  • Lavender: Often used for normal to dry or sensitive skin and to promote a relaxing, calming scent before bed.
  • Citrus (orange, lemon, grapefruit, lime, tangerine): Give a fresh, energizing scent; commonly marketed for brightening, anti-acne or anti-wrinkle positioning in citrus bars.
  • Tea tree: Popular in face or body soaps intended for blemish‑prone areas because of its strong, clean and antimicrobial character.
  • Peppermint and spearmint: Provide a cooling, refreshing feel and invigorating aroma, often used in morning or “wake‑up” bars.
  • Patchouli and vanilla: Contribute deeper, warm, grounding aromas and are frequently paired with woods or citrus in more complex bars.

Why choose essential-oil soaps

Compared with synthetic fragrances, essential-oil scented soaps:

  • Keep the bar more naturally derived and aligned with “clean beauty” preferences.
  • Reduce reliance on artificial perfume while still giving a lasting scent in the shower.
  • Offer targeted mood effects (relaxing lavender, uplifting citrus, clarifying mint) alongside gentle cleansing.

If you share your skin type (dry, oily, sensitive, mature), a short list of bar types and essential oil combinations from this company can be suggested for you specifically.

The Best Bar Soaps

The Best Bar Soaps

The best “traditional” soaps are simple lye‑based bars made from a few whole fats (often olive or tallow), with minimal or no synthetic additives, following historic methods like Aleppo, Marseille, or Grandma’s Lye Soap styles. For you as a cold‑process maker, those traditions translate into high‑olive recipes, long cures, and clear stories about origin, ingredients, and method.

The Best Bar Soap - Grandma's Lye Soap
Grandma’s Lye soap is an authentic, time-honored soap, made for a century in Italy, Brazil and now United States.

Handmade Limited Edition

The Natural Handcrafted Soap Company, a small business, was established to produce natural, handmade soap traditionally, as it was crafted centuries ago. Handmade Soaps Products are Natural, Organic, Wild-harvested, Sustainable, Hypoallergenic

Our artisan soaps are made the old-fashioned way. They are handcrafted using natural, organic, and unrefined ingredients, including pure, organic therapeutic essential oils and organic botanicals. Our truly organic, unrefined Greek extra-virgin olive oil base is shipped directly from a family-owned olive farm in Greece. We use the “cold processing” method called Saponification and do not add heat or chemicals to the soap pots. This process produces natural glycerin, a by-product of the soap-making process. We only use the highest quality organic therapeutic-grade essential oils. Unlike most soap companies on the market today, we do not remove this glycerin from our soap because it is a humectant. This helps moisturize the skin and can be gentle enough for even the driest and most sensitive skin. Our products do not add preservatives, colorants, or fragrance oils. Our soaps are made for skincare health – no harmful synthetics, just pure ingredients straight from nature.

ARTISAN? What is Artisan

Artisan (one that produces something (such as cheese or wine or soap ) in limited quantities often using traditional methods, this was the idea, to go back in time and make soap the way it was meant to be made, using all-natural healthy simple ingredients that would not only make your skin feel clean all day with lots of wonderful lather but also a product that was good for the skin, anti-aging, acne, wrinkles, spots, sensitive skin, dry and oily, simple ingredients that would not only make your skin feel clean all day with lots of wonderful lather but also a product that was good for the skin, anti-aging, acne, wrinkles, spots, sensitive skin, dry and oily skin and more. We use family recipes and techniques from over 100 years ago, we also use recipes and the method of making Syrian – Aleppo soap, where it all began centuries ago…
